Days 5, 6, 7, and 8……at Sea
For the last four days we have
been sailing east across the Atlantic toward Gibraltar. On Day 5 & 6 the
weather turned sour; cloudy, rain at times, and even cold. We settled into a
routine of a breakfast in the dining room, morning trivia, and coffee in the
Piazza, lunch in the dining room, and a nap ever so often. In the afternoon we played Progressive trivia
with new friends Walt, Al, Bill & Carla.
We formed a team called the Texans plus 1, we added Walt but kept the
same name. We were playing against some
pretty stiff competition composed of 12 other teams. We placed 5th out of about 20 teams,
not enough to win a prize (a plastic Princess pen!).
I’ve managed to read two books
and I’m working on the third. Life on the ship isn’t exactly all about eating
and napping. Every day I walk my 3 miles, round and round the deck and MA has
faithfully done her 5 miles on the stationery bicycle. Mostly what we enjoy is
meeting new folks and swapping travel stories with them.
In the evening we went back to the dining room
at 8:15 pm to our regular table with Walt, Jan, Bill, and Sam. The last two
days the weather has been beautiful. The
Atlantic is like a lake. We dock in
Gibraltar on Tuesday morning and have an excursion to Marbella, a Spanish
resort town that I will tell you about tomorrow.
Later….WW
Wayne and MA,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update.
Sounds like y'all had plenty of entertainment on the crossing. Nice the weather turned around before you arrive at Gibraltar.
Looking forward to the next update.
Have a safe and God Blessed day - dave b.
