Munich (photo borrowed from Google)
Mary Alice and I are off once again on another photography trip. We are going back to Vence, France via Munich, Germany. Our flight leaves 10:30 Tuesday morning, stopping first in New York. We'll be in the Bavarian capital for two full days and then we are off to Nice and then Vence. We're are all packed and ready to go.
One leg of our trip is on Air Berlin and they have a super strict cabin baggage allowance, maximum 13 pounds. If you show up at the gate without a "my carry-on's been weighed tag" you will not be boarded. Heck, my camera and lens alone weigh 13 pounds, without even being in a suitcase. So we're juggling stuff around because it's about $100 for an extra checked bag.
Our townhouse is officially up for sale. MA's co-teacher in Bible Study recommended Marty at Greentree Realty and he's already "on it", as they say. We are building a beautiful single story Craftsman style in the Cypress community called Bridgeland. MA has decided to retire at the end of the year so we no longer need to live "in town", plus our townhouse, which we love, does have 32 steps up from ground floor to third floor. The big attraction where we're going is miles of walking and bike trails, a lake, and for MA, a huge pool. We've been like a couple of kids picking out the flooring, paint, faucets and it's been a lot of fun. We've also been working hard to get our place "move-in" ready, as they say on HGTV. This process has not been without obstacles like new carpet in the downstairs bedroom and a new HVAC unit on the patio.
So now we are ready to set out on a new adventure. The next blog will be from "Munchen" as they say in Deutschland. MA didn't have time to learn German so, hoping for the best, she downloaded a German dictionary on the IPAD. I was stationed there in the Air Force so I do know how to say "two coffees, please and how much". Stay tuned!
